Amelie Gladman has officially joined the Dons as a replacement player for the 2025 AFLW season.

The 19-year-old crafty forward joins the Bombers following standout performances with the Oakleigh Chargers in the Coates Talent League, and Collingwood VFLW.

A natural footballer, competitor, and former Victorian state cricketer, Gladman quickly emerged as one of the most promising talents outside the AFLW system after narrowly missing out on selection in the 2024 National Draft.

At 167cm, Gladman brings strong overhead marking, a defensive-first mindset, and the ability to read the game under pressure. Her kicking, positioning, and aggression, paired with work ethic, make her a valuable addition to the Bombers list.

Off-field, Gladman is known for her determination, professionalism and is respected by coaches and teammates for her resilience and team-first mindset.

Essendon AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Josh Moore is excited to see what Amelie can achieve on and off the field at the Bombers.

“Amelie is a player we have been tracking for quite some time now. Her resilience and attitude in wanting to get better since missing last year’s draft has been exceptional,” Moore said.

“She plays with a maturity beyond her years - with high footy IQ and smart leading patterns, she is a vital cog in offensive transition for whichever team she plays in, with her efficient kicking standing out.

“We have had a focus on bringing great people in, with elite character traits. Amelie will certainly add value in this area. We are excited to welcome Amelie and her family to the Bombers.”
