Essendon has named its side to take on Fremantle at Optus Stadium this Thursday.

As announced earlier in the week, young ruck Vigo Visentini will make his AFL debut under the primetime lights after more than a year of solid development via the VFL.

Visentini replaces veteran Todd Goldstein, who's been managed off the short turnaround for the trip to Perth.

Ben Hobbs will join the teenager as an inclusion for this week's matchup, with Archer Day-Wicks omitted from the side.

The Dons face the Dockers from 8:10pm AEST (6:10pm AWST) on Thursday.
