Essendon Football Club are proud to announce the winners of the Fujitsu Local Club Competition. Four local sporting clubs have each been awarded with $1,000 to support their continued growth in the community, with the major winner now announced.

Supporting grassroots and community football through these initiatives is crucial in providing opportunities for future stars of the game. 

Congratulations to the following recipients. 

Major Winner - Club of the Year: Eynesbury Eagles Football Netball Club

The Eynesbury Eagles Football Netball Club was the winner of the Fujitsu's Club of the Year competition - receiving an additional $1,000, a Fujitsu SMEG Mini Bar Fridge filled with Gatorade & a Round 23 Money-Can't-Buy-Experience at the game against St Kilda this Friday for 20 guests. Sandra Hutchinson entered the competition on behalf of the club to highlight how the club had rallied around her family to raise funds to support her 18-year-old son Josh when he snapped his tibia and fibula during a match last year.

Lower Plenty Football Club have exponentially grown over the past few years, with two all abilities teams, a women's side and three male teams at the Club. With core values of inclusivity, respect and honesty, Lower Plenty have well and truly earned this additional support. The Club obtain exceptional community spirit and genuine dedication to providing all players and staff with access to appropriate resources and development opportunities. 

Aintree Football Club, although a young organisation sitting at only three years old, this Club is always striving for greatness. Their vision is to provide a welcoming environment for the community, and ultimately be an inclusive and respectful Club. This funding will allow Aintree to continue being a place for the community to gather, and a professional destination with exceptional leadership, offering coaches and players with development opportunities.

Newbridge Football Netball Club have shown resilience and strength in the community. The Club have undergone two full rebuilds in 2011 and 2022 after devastating floods hit the area. The family friendly club have been a pillar in the community by providing an environment for families, friends and locals to unite, connect and socialise. Located on the banks of the Loddon River in Newbridge, Victoria, the club strives to continue being a welcoming and successful organisation.
