""It is easy to say that (he is out of form) but in fairness to Matthew the delivery into our forward line has been pretty poor the past couple of weeks. He hasn’t been up and playing well – let’s face it - but you can turn that around very quickly. He has been back three weeks so he should be near his top – we will get him out here and do some marking practice during the week,"" Sheedy said.
""You look at Brown – his was a fantastic performance coming off a seven-week break and he probably had the ball delivered exactly as we would have liked to deliver it to Matthew. But we don’t have a midfield as good as Brisbane and we have got to keep working at developing one. You put a (Simon) Black or a (Nick) Dal Santo in front of a full forward like Matthew Lloyd and he would probably be kicking a few more goals.""
Sheedy said he wasn’t sure what to read into the Bombers’ performance against Brisbane and as such had not decided what course of action to take at the selection table. He did however suggest some players were on their last chance.
""It has been quite hard to judge the game because we were coming off a five-day break – we made a lot of tired decisions and the team won’t train tonight, they will be down at the beach. We just want to freshen them up. Not a lot of teams play well after a five-day break but I want to give them one more chance,"" he said.
""If players deserve to be dropped they will be dropped if there is someone better to replace them – that is an issue as well. We have found three terrific players that have not even played 10 games yet and if we can find another three and get some other players playing better then we will be moving in the right direction.
""The team is young, some players are up, some are down. Brisbane turned it around in one week. We have played about 35 players this season – we are turning them over trying to find the right team. You can’t put nine in because you will get beaten anyway … it is a balance issue.""
