Essendon were represented well at the VFL/VFLW Awards on Monday night, with Liam McMahon, El Chaston and Brooke Plummer all named in the respective VFL and VFLW Teams of the Year.
Named on the interchange, McMahon was recognised for a stellar 2025 split between stints with both Essendon and Carlton - booting 43 goals in total (and 19 in just six VFL appearances for the Dons), the key forward's season went to another level when he was elevated to the AFL side over the final two months.
VFLW skipper Chaston was named to the half back flank, capping off a season where they also notched up runner-up in the Lambert-Pearce Medal and finished fourth in the VFLW Coaches MVP.
In her first season with the Club, Plummer was named to the wing in the final side, well deserved recognition for a season that also held a fourth place finish in the Bombers' Best and Fairest.
Essendon's volunteers and support staff were also recognised, Nick Frederiksen honoured with the Ann Rulton Award as VFLW Volunteer of the Year and Alan Stevens awarded VFL Life Membership.
Ben Milton and Jordan Kinniburgh were also named in the CWFL (Community Wheelchair) Team of the Year this week, with Milton finishing runner-up in the league's Best and Fairest.
