More than 1000 people took part in the event at Windy Hill, making it one of the largest of its kind in Victoria.
Importantly over $200,000 was raised for the Cancer Council’s lifesaving cancer research, world-class education and prevention programs, and important support services for people facing cancer.

Essendon Premiership player Adam Ramanauskas was patron of this year’s event and a key member of the organisation committee. A number of Essendon staff and players got involved in the 24-hour event.
Cancer Council Victoria Director Professor David Hill says the Bombers have become important players in the fight against cancer.

Highlights of the Relay included:
- Highest team fundraiser went to the Brumby's Babes team who raised $40,000.00
- Highest individual fundraiser went to Belinda Ramanauskas (Adam's wife) who raised $4525.00.
- Entertainment from BABBA and Darryl Cotton
- More than 1000 locals and supporters participated in the event
