Brent Stanton had another consistent year in the Bomber midfield with his hard running and ball winning ability. Bomber fans are still looking at improvement in his disposal, so that each of his possessions is valuable.

The 23-year-old's rating of 6.68/10 in 2009 was up slightly from 6.58/10 in 2008. With another strong pre-season, Brent will again be a key element of the midfield group.

Here's what some of the Essendon fans had to say:

Another excellent season. Why isn't Stants more highly rated? The amount of ball he gets is unbelieveable. Just needs to practice his goal-kicking a bit more. (Leigh McKenzie)

This guy could be anything, but he only shows it 50% of the time. I'm tipping a HUGE season for Brent next year. He wont let the No.5 guernsey down. My roughie for the 2010 Brownlow. (James Harvey)

Brent has really stood up this year and is now part of the senior core group of players. His run and carry of the ball has been great to see. Thanks Brent for a fine season. (John Poke)

Strongest attribute is his ability to keep running, something that's always apparent towards the end of games. Disposal at times is a bit of a weakness. (Graham Flynn)

Another solid year from Brent who had to deal with a lot of tagging. Still needs to improve his decision making and disposal skills to become an elite player but he is well on the way! An integral part of the team and we will be looking for more leadership from him in 2010. (Rod Ansell)

Super consistent year. Won't turn a game and occasionally makes errors with disposal. However, he more than makes up for this with the heart of a lion and his amazing stamina. Needs to be more dangerous and kick a goal or two. (Matt Grima)

Adds spark when running through the lines to set up play across the half-forward line or from half-back. A solid and reassuring sight to behold - when he gets into the play you know something good's going to happen. (Richard Hayward)

Works very hard but just needs to work on his kicking. He needs to be able to hurt opposition with his large number of disposals. Should base himself on Ben Cousins. (Matthew Baker)

A very important player who I have a lot of time for, however his short disposal by foot is still below standard - should kick long more often. (Francis Connolly)
