Key duo Brendon Goddard and Michael Hibberd will boost Essendon’s side to take on the Western Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.

Goddard, Hibberd and Nick O’Brien have been included in the squad to be reduced to a final 22 on Friday afternoon.

Hibberd returns after overcoming an ankle injury that has kept him out of the recent wins over Port Adelaide and Collingwood while Goddard is back after serving his one match suspension for rough conduct.

Coach Mark Thompson confirmed both Hibberd and Goddard would take their place in the final team to take on the Dogs.

“We have two good players coming back in with Goddard and Hibberd and they will both play so it is great to have those guys back in the side," Thompson said.

“We are pretty happy with our form and it is important that we see this game as one were we start well and play it right the way through to the final siren for a second week in a row."
