Essendon captain Jobe Watson is joining fellow AFL stars to tackle the issue of homophobia in sport as they celebrate IDAHO Day (International Day against Homophobia) on Friday 17th May.

The AFL Players Association has been running a social media campaign #Footy4IDAHO aimed at raising awareness of the damaging effects homophobic language can have within sport and the community.

Stars of the game Lenny Hayes, Dane Swan, Scott Pendlebury and Drew Petrie are among those to have joined Watson in leading the campaign.

The Players Association has been involved in IDAHO since 2009 but in 2013 the campaign has ramped up with the participation and commitment of the players involved highlights the emphasis on making the AFL industry an inclusive one for all.
