Essendon is confident of re-signing out-of-contract forwardScott Gumbleton and veteran ruckman David Hille soon.
Gumbleton has met with rival clubs, including Melbourne andFremantle, since the end of the season, while 31-year-old Hille is overseas andyet to accept the one-year deal on offer.
But the Bombers remain confident both will be at Windy Hillin 2013.
""Gumby has a contract in front of him at the moment andwe're pretty confident that we'll get a pretty positive resolution very, veryshortly,"" Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro told AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday.
""I'm confident. Nothing's been signed, so we can'tpre-empt anything, but the indications are we're heading down that path.
""He's a young man who's been through a hell of a lotover the past six years with the injuries, but he's finally got on top of itand I think all the Bombers' fans would love to see him play to his potentialnext year.""
Dodoro said they expected Hille to recommit once he returnedto Australia.
""He hasn't signed [the contract] yet because he'soverseas at the moment, but it's heading in the positive direction and I thinkwe'll get a really positive outcome there as well in the not too distantfuture,"" he said.
He also said the Bombers weren't expecting to trade for WestCoast midfielder Koby Stevens.
""We've had discussions about a number of a players whoare seeking new homes and Koby is one we've spoken to West Coast and hismanagement about,"" he said.
""I wouldn't say it's a high priority for us.
""They've got an asking price and at the moment we'reprobably not going to go near him based on what the asking price is.""
He didn't rule out interest in Stevens should the21-year-old fall through to the NAB AFL Draft, although he conceded a few clubswere looking at him.
Dodoro said the Bombers had ""a few little thingshappening"" with ""lesser-type of deals"", but denied interest inHawthorn free agent Clinton Young.
""We've brought Brendon Goddard into the club and we'relooking at a couple of other opportunities that may pop up next week; if theyhappen they happen, if they don't, they don't,"" he said.
""Clinton probably isn't part of our plans at themoment.""
