In the aftermath of its second half collapse against the Adelaide Crows on Saturday night, Essendon may make up to four changes leading into its next big challenge against West Coast and it could include some of the higher profile Bombers.

""We’ll probably make three changes, four at the most. I don’t believe in having wholesale changes. Whether we drop big name players, well I’ll have a think about that,"" Kevin Sheedy said this afternoon before training.

""Our club in general has to dig deep and I will go and find competitors and people who play footy the way we want them to play. So if I move three or four players into the team that are heading our club in that direction then I will do it.""

However, Sheedy wasn’t prepared to name individual players who may lose their spots or come into the senior line up.

""I’m not prepared to tell anyone that. I don’t need to tell West Coast anything at the moment. Why should we let any of them know pre-empting selection, they are on top with the best team in there at the moment and it’s a great challenge for us.""

One name that was mentioned by the media was Dean Solomon. While he disappointed the coach with some undisciplined acts on Saturday night, Sheedy stopped at singling out his actions in the loss.

""He’s been a solid bench player for us this year Dean Solomon, so we seem to be carrying him a little bit, but no one is perfect, and a lot of good players are having pretty quiet years from other clubs and we have a couple at ours.

It was the team’s final training session in Melbourne before travelling to Perth on Wednesday morning and while the Bombers will be certain underdogs for their trip to the ""house of pain"", Sheedy is remaining positive.

""It’s a great challenge for us really, our performances overall other than that last half over the past month haven’t been that bad.

""We have a lot of Bomber fans in Adelaide, and a lot of Bomber fans in Perth and you’ve got to play well, just for your own self and your team and your club and your guernsey.

They are aspects I discussed with the team which is what any coach would do after an avalanche like that in the last 50 minutes.""
