“Spoken to @dirk_nannes and fast bowling partner @hasto194 (John Hastings) and they are promising Hirdy some short bowling on Australia Day,” McDonald wrote via Twitter.
It seems both Angus Monfries and David Zaharakis are keen to showcase their respective batting and bowling abilities, each warning the DEC Bushrangers of their dangerous leg spins.
“For those interested I bowl flighted, drifting leg spin with an unreadable wrong'en, open the batting and am handy behind the stumps also,” Monfries confidently tweeted.
Despite the confidence, Bomber team mate Andrew Welsh suggested Monfries was ‘paying evens’ for a golden duck.
“You will be hit for six with your pies you bowl, bowled for a golden duck and [will] drop catches all day,” Welsh tweeted.
David Zaharakis also issued a warning to the opposing DEC Bushrangers team and tweeted his excitement leading up to the Australia Day clash.
“Looking forward to the Australia day 20/20 [10/10] at Windy Hill, Bombers v Bushrangers! Watch out for my famous backyard cricket leg spinners,” Zaharakis tweeted.
