After an injury interrupted 2010, Bomber forward Mark Williams is enjoying a pain free pre-season.
Essendon Assistant Coach Sean Wellman says Williams is progressing well and working hard on the training track.
“He’s certainly been able to train more and he’s made some improvements, he is really keen to atone for a disappointing year.” Wellman told Bomber TV.
The veteran of 115 AFL games - including the 2008 Premiership with Hawthorn - has played just four games with the Bombers after being traded to Windy Hill with pick 24 in exchange for Essendon's pick 16.
“He’s certainly got some talent, he can kick goals and he’s proven that over the journey,” Wellman said.
“But it’s up to him and he’s competing with a lot of guys who want his spot. That’s what we want as a club, plenty of competition from within so he’s going to have to earn his spot like everyone else,” he said.
Victoria’s sporting elite will go head to head in a 10-a-side cricket showdown at Windy Hill on Australia Day, an event proudly supported by iPrimus. The day will incorporate football and cricket activities and celebrate the partnership both teams share with the GloBall program.
