A young Bombers’ side will line up against the Magpies at the MCG on Friday night. The match marks the next chapter in a bitter rivalry between the two clubs, one which has seen many exciting and close wins from Essendon.

In this week’s poll we ask, ‘What is Essendon’s greatest victory over Collingwood?’

The options in this week’s poll are:

1.       1911 Grand Final: Essendon defeated the Magpies at the MCG 41points to 35 points.

2.       Round 5 1945: Essendon defeated the Magpies by a point at Windy Hill in Dick Reynolds’ 200th game.

3.       1946 Semi Final: Essendon defeated the Magpies 76 points to 57 points. This semi-final was replayed after a draw the week before.

4.       Anzac Day 2009: Essendon defeated the Magpies 88 points to 93 points after David Zaharakis kicked a goal in the dying seconds.

5.       Other

In last week’s poll we asked the question, ‘Who will win the 2010 NAB AFL Rising Star Award?’

Over 50% of voters were confident that Michael Hurley would take home the award after being nominated in Round 18. A quarter of voters said that someone other than the five options given would win the award, with 8.7% backing Melbourne’s Tom Scully, 7% selecting Melbourne’s Jack Trengrove, 4.86% putting their faith in Jake Melksham and nobody opting for West Coast’s Nic Naitanui.

Here’s what some of the fans had to say last week:

Neil Poyner from Wirrulla says: I think Hurley has 'found his feet' in defence and should be left to play there each week.

Nathan from Melbourne says: Dustin Martin would win by a mile if it wasn't for that petty reprimand. Hanneberry, Trengove and Fyfe have had great years.

Gibbo from WA says: Don’t get too excited bomber supporters; Hurley doesn’t have a chance at winning it. Hannebery or Martin will win, not Hurley

Angeline Baron from Victoria says: I only have one eye, so it's difficult to see any other players besides those wearing Red and Black. Good luck to both our boys, Hurls and Jake the Snake!

Joseph Attard from Taylors Hill says: Michael Hurley, he has been a revelation in the backline and I think that he will definitely be up there in the votes...definitely the dark horse of the rising star.

Molly from Noble Park says: Ben ""Strat-ospheric"" Straton should win, but most likely the Sydney boy will win it!

Justin Millard from Quambatook says: If any of the betting agencies offered odds on 'other' then I'd be happy to put some cash down =)

James Brown from Berwick says: This is difficult to pick because there hasn't been a standout player. Tom Scully and Jack Trengrove have shown why they were talked up so much, performing quite well, but they haven't dominated like Joel Selwood did in his first season. I think the winner will be the player who played the most games and is therefore eligible for the most votes. Melksham is more of a chance than Hurley is, because Hurley's start to the season was not as good as his recent form.
