Justin Blumfield also performed very well - his use of the ball a class above most of the opposition. Of the Essendon listed players, Henry Slattery again showed he will be a good player for the club. After missing last weekend with slight groin soreness, he returned in fine style. His hardness at the ball and work rate was terrific.
As you would expect, impressive youngster Paul Thomas took his demotion from the senior side on the chin and he provided Bendigo with some real drive off half back. Marc Bullen (three goals) also did well for Bendigo in the midfield while Jobe Watson (three goals) provided an excellent target all day up forward.
Damian Cupido - an emergency for the Essendon senior side - did not take his place in the Bendigo side suggesting there could be a late change for Essendon for today's game against Fremantle at The Dome.
