Robert Shaw’s thoughts:
Adam is very important to us. It is not a football issue with Adam. I believe his treatment is going very well. He has been sorely missed as a player, but what has happened to him over the last six months makes football irrelevant. We just hope at this stage that Adam has a full recovery and then we will worry about football when the time comes.
What some of fan’s had to say:
“Essendon really missed his speed, polish and flair in the second half of the season. His leadership and skill will be important next season and I wish him a speedy recovery.” Rachelle Bransgrove.
“One of our better players, certainly in top half dozen. We really missed him, But all our/my best wishes are with him. GOODLUCK.” Philip Hay.
“Even though Adam Ramanauskas only played 10 games this season he always had such a impact on the game. His pace is fantastic. Go Rama!” Anna Kelty.
“Will be a boost for the side if he returns for the beginning of the season. Ramma was sorely missed when strong running was required down the centre.” Steve Dobbyn.
“Great every game he played. Courageous as always. The soul of the Essendon Football Club in the next few years.” Anthony Christou.
“Was probably one of the team's shining lights in the early stages of the year. Hope hr can get on the paddock next year as he is a very exiting player.” Wayne Geggie.
“A true clubman! An inspiration and the reason we performed so well at the end of the season.” Adrian Brown.
“Adam what can you say about him, he is a very likeable, popular player, the games he played he showed how valuable he is. His illness stopped him playing but he was never forgotten. Next season will be Adam's best season. Can't wait to see him back in the black and red running opponents of their feet and showing what a true champion he is.” Karole Prince.
