Ross Gilbert from Kensington has narrowly missed out on winning $10,000 during the second round of the '3 from 3' competition held before the Essendon v West Coast game at Telstra Dome.

The competition, created by 3 Mobile and Essendon Football Club, again gave three people the chance to kick a goal from 50 metres and win thousands of dollars.

Ross was the only contestant to kick a goal from the top of the goal square, 25 metres out and 35 metres out to win the right to have a shot at the money - but his kick from 50 metres fell short.

Rebecca Bowden from Glen Waverley and Linda Zinni from Bundoora tried hard but failed to kick a goal from all three spots to advance to the money round. Rebecca missed from 35 metres and Linda from 25 metres.

The three participants received an Essendon Football Club jumper, EFC/3 cap and a 3 mobile package. They will also receive two tickets to a nominated Essendon home game.

Bomber fans will have the opportunity to test their kicking ability in the '3 from 3' competition during the following rounds:

Round 13: v Melbourne
Round 17: v Adelaide

People can register for the competition at essendonfc.com.au or three.com.au from the Monday before the game.

Fans wishing to enter the competition need only complete the on-line entry form and answer the featured question for that particular round. The first three valid entires will be drawn out and win the chance to kick for the cash.
