BOMBER radio has broken new ground by signing a deal with radio station Sport 927 that will see the show remain on air 12 months of the year.
The Essendon Football Club show will now be the only club orientated football show on radio or television that will be there for fans every week of the year.
The Bomber Radio Summer Series, brought to you by Ormiston Rubber, will feature a number of new segments including Bomber Flashbacks and Celebrity Supporters.
Host of the show Steve Layt said he was looking forward to the Bomber Radio Summer Series hitting the airwaves with the new features sure to create plenty of interest among listeners.
"The Bomber flashback segment will be great. We will get to look back at some of the magic moments at Windy Hill such as grand final victories and great individual performances," Layt said.
"And there are plenty of big names who follow Essendon Football Club and it will be fantastic to have a chat with them. It will make great radio and I'm sure Essendon fans and indeed all football fans will enjoy the show."
Essendon Football Club Communications Manager and co-host of the show Simon Matthews said the introduction of a 12-month show was a significant step forward in communications between the club and its supporters.
"There is so much going on during the off-season nowadays and supporters really want to stay in touch - this show will give them the opportunity to do just that. We want to make sure that our most important asset - our supporters - are well serviced," Matthews said.
"This is an exciting time in the evolution of Essendon Football Club, particularly with the club's move to Colonial Stadium, and supporters want to be a part of that and be kept informed about developments.
"We also have membership packages to discuss, the club's game in London, trade and draft talks and preparations for the 2000 season where everyone is hopeful the side can go a couple of steps further than it did this year."
The Ormiston Rubber Bomber Radio Summer Series is brought to you by the Essendon Social Club, Centravon Water Purifiers, James Duffy Hairdressers, Brumby's Bakeries and Cisco's World Of Coffee.
