Essendon and Hawthorn players were fined a total of $69,500 in the wake of last weekend’s all-in brawl by the AFL tribunal tonight. Mark Johnson was the hardest hit Bomber copping a $6,500 fine for his involvement in the melee. Essendon players were fined a total of $34,000 while Hawthorn players will pay $35,500 in fines.

According to Kevin Sheedy there are no excuses for Essendon on Saturday night at The Pressure Cooker. The Bomber coach said it is the strongest team to take on Brisbane in a long time. He said that David Hille is likely to return to the side after missing last Saturday’s match with a calf injury, however ruled out Jason Winderlich from selection.
