Michael Hurley was also dangerous kicking three goals in attack.
McVeigh (one-match), Lovett-Murray (two matches) and Hurley (three matches) were not available for senior selection due to suspension but could play the practice match.

“Those four all played pretty well and the most pleasing part of it was their attitude,” Bendigo coach Shannon Grant said.
“They really lead from the front and it was pleasing to have those senior players come back and not only play well, but give the other boys encouragement and direction.
“Taite Silverlock also played really well through the midfield. He’s hard at it and he really puts his head over the footy, he’s got a bright future.""
Grant said the win was a true team effort.
“We had a pretty good line-up, which made us a very strong side and we ran away with it and won comfortably in the end so it was a pleasing result,” he said.
