Essendon midfielder Kyle Langford has been offered a one-match sanction with an early plea for an incident involving Adelaide's Shane McAdam at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Langford was charged by Match Review Officer Michael Christian for making 'forceful front-on contact' with McAdam during the second quarter of the Bombers' win.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match sanction.

Meanwhile, Zach Merrett was also charged but can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Merrett was sanctioned for 'rough conduct (dangerous tackle)' on Chayce Jones during the third term, with the incident assessed as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.
