The Essendon Football Club would like to congratulate long-standing strategic partner Paralympics Australia on its successful bid to host the 2032 Brisbane Paralympics.

Congratulations to CEO Lynne Anderson, president Jock O’Callaghan and the entire team at Paralympics Australia for the work undertaken in delivering this historic moment for para-sport in Australia.

The benefits of hosting a Paralympics cannot be underestimated, and will advance the possibilities in Australia for para-athletes for generations to come.

Thanks to the club's partnership with Paralympics Australia, the Bombers have been able to develop the NEC Hangar into a truly world-class sports and community precinct for many football and para-sport teams who call it home.

This announcement will add further opportunity for the club to work together with Paralympics Australia over the next decade and beyond, which is incredibly exciting.

The club looks forward to soon officially opening the latest development of the NEC Hangar with Paralympics Australia, which among many aspects includes dedicated para-athlete accommodation and a new home for the Paralympics Australia Hall of Fame.

The club would like to wish all our para-athletes the very best at the Tokyo Paralympics, and look forward to welcoming them (and their medals!) back home at the NEC Hangar.
