Essendon has had a busy week at the selection table, making multiple changes for Sunday's clash with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

The Bombers will welcome back Matt Guelfi, Martin Gleeson and Alec Waterman to their line-up, with injured pair Kyle Langford (hamstring) and Dyson Heppell (thumb) and omitted youngsters Archie Perkins and Brayden Ham making way.

MATCH PREVIEW: Bulldogs v Bombers

Star midfielder Zach Merrett will take the reins as acting captain in Heppell's absence.

The Bombers will be out to snap a six-game losing streak against the Bulldogs and stay in touch with the top eight, with the action to begin at 3:20pm and broadcast live on Channel Seven on Sunday.
