""So far we have been pretty lucky,"" Essendon High Performance Manager John Quinn said.
""We had a bad run there in the first four weeks where we had half a dozen hamstrings or soft tissues all in one go, but we are through that now and we are going along pretty well.
""That could all change in a heartbeat, but so far so good.""
With Courtenay Dempsey, Leroy Jetta and Nathan Lovett-Murray all looking set to return within the next fortnight, Quinn is excited about the progress of the players.
""We took Nathan and Leroy up to Newcastle to a specialist about a week ago and we are quite happy with the progress,"" he explained.
""Leroy is agitating to play this week but it won’t be this week, it is likely to be next week while Nathan looks to be about two weeks away.
""As far as Courtenay Dempsey goes, he is coming along well and is likely to be back playing in about a fortnight.""
And Alwyn Davey looks to be a likely starter in Sydney despite suffering a knock to the head during last week’s clash with Richmond.
""Alwyn Davey pulled up fine on Sunday morning so he didn’t suffer any ill effects from the head-knock on Saturday night. We will monitor him over the next few days and will have to make a decision on his availability for Sydney,"" Quinn said.
