Essendon targets midfield support

The Bombers selected Kyle Hardingham with pick No.7 in the pre-season draft. The 21-year-old is a 184cm, 84kg midfielder/defender who won the East Fremantle senior best and fairest award this year.
Essendon took Taite Silverlock with its first pick in the rookie draft (No.14 overall). The 18-year-old is a 178cm, 81kg midfielder/forward from West Adelaide who played State level for South Australia in under/18 and under/16's.

The club was very happy to use pick No.30 on Ben Howlett from Peel Thunder. He is a 22-year-old quick midfielder who is 180cm, 82kg and won the best and fairest in the seniors this year.
At pick No.43 the Bombers took midfielder/attacking backman Stewart Crameri from the Bendigo Bombers. Crameri, 21, stands 188cm and is 86 kg. He is considered highly skilled.
Another midfielder was taken at pick No. 55 in Marcus Marigliani who won the Frankston best and fairest award in the VFL in 2008 and was runner-up this year. The 180cm, 80kg mature-age recruit (24-years-old) can also play forward and is considered quick and has excellent endurance .
At pick No. 65 Essendon took John Williams who spent the 2008 and 2009 seasons on the club's senior list. The 21-year-old is a high marking forward who displayed talent but suffered a shoulder injury and needed a reconstruction.

The Bombers have arrived in Coffs Harbour for their week-long training camp. General manager of football operations Paul Hamilton said the camp would involve the usual weights and fitness based training but would have a greater emphasis on learning.
