The NAB National Draft will be held this Thursday night and Essendon is well placed to secure a future star with pick No.10.

In this week's poll we ask: what type of player do you want with that top 10 pick?

Do we need more midfield grunt, will another ruckman allow Paddy Ryder more freedom in future years, is a small forward the key?

Last week we asked where should Michael Hurley play in 2010 and 63.10% of fans said 'key position forward' and 36.9 said 'key position backman'.

Here are some of the comments:

Tor Simpson from Reservoir/VIC says: We struggled for goals this year. With Lloyd gone it is only gonna get harder to find an avenue to goal. Hurley showed, against the Hawks in Rd 22, that he has great instincts in front of the sticks. Let him play up front!

Leigh from Caroline Springs says: Key Forward and no doubt about it! With the exit of Lloyd and Lucas we have only Neagle as a strong marking forward. We can't rely too heavily on the fitness of Scott Gumbleton and can't rely on Jay's consistency or fitness so having Michael Hurley as a forward option is a strong one for us. He's already shown how capable he is forward and back but we are fairly well covered in defence provided young players can improve the defensive side of their games. Go Hurley- can't wait to see you kicking bags for us!

Joseph Attard from Taylors Hill says: I think Hurley needs to be a forward in 2010. He looks like the type that can boot 80 goals in a season if given the chance. If possible, we can use him in both positions, but preferrably, forward.

Tom Amos from Ringwood says: I think Hurley would be very consistant as a key position backman and it would be better to keep his attacking talents for use when needed in a game where the forwards are not firing. Less is more

Jim Young from Berwick Victoria says: Michael Hurley should play in defence strong marking long kicking rugged defenders are worth their weight in gold.

Daniel from Mornington says: Lets see if Gumbleton can stay on the park and Neagle and Monfries step up throw in 30 - 50 goals from Williams and let Hurley settle down back with Paddy, Tayte, Cale, Spike and Courtney. Come on boys 2010 is ours.

Damein from Box Hill says: He is an exciting player, for we have seen his ability to swing between these two roles. I beleive a solid defender will be more beneficial for the club. He should be given some stints up forward as a bonus and a way to shake things up depending on how the match is going.

Andrew Bryce from Traynors Lagoon. Vic. says: Much prefer Hurley to play back half along side Fletcher while he can, to gain valuable experience. This would allow Ryder to move forward with the young forwards Neagle & Gumbleton with the occasional run in the ruck. Fantastic options to have with all fit!!!

Jonnie from Gippsland says: Very tough decision, one of the hardest in my life. I think he should stay as a key position defender as we already have Jay Neagle, Scotty Gumbleton and Michael Still developing as future gun forwards. With Fletch soon to retire and McPhee playing more up the ground, would love to see Hurley building a team of defenders with Pears, Hooker and Daniher.

Tim Leung from Brisbane says: A no brainer in my opinion.. We have some structure in the backline with Fletch, Pears, Lovett Murray etc. Has to be tried up forward with Gumby first. I think he will start up forward and be rotated all year.

Bob Davies from Essendon says: This Hurley guy looks like the next Reiwoldt to me. Definitely should be playing at centre half forward next season.

Simon De Bono from vic says: I think it depends on the developement of other players. We did pick him up to play at full back but with Fletch playing on and the emergence of Pears, playing him at chf could free up. Gumby as a tall option at ff if Neagle and Still need more time to develop.

Daniel W from Aireys Inlet says: We have an abundance of defenders with Tayte Pears, Cale Hooker, Darcy Daniher and Dustin Fletcher is good for at least one more year, probably more. With the loss of Lloyd and Lucas we are in need of a key position forward and god knows Hurley proved how good he is in that position.

James Brown from Berwick, Vic says: Has to play in the backline. Every great side is built on a great defence. Geelong, Brisbane, West Coast. All these sides have had great defences in their dominant years. They also had a very strong midfield. Even Hawthorn, had a very good defensive game plan, which won them a flag and st kilda this year. Paddy shoud play key forward.

Tristan from Broken Hill says: Hurls should definately play forward, granted he is great in defense also, but we realy need a key marking, goal kicking centre half forward, and I think he is the man for the job. The goals he kicked against Hawthorn in the final round were one of the reasons we got to play finals and his last one off his left from outside the 50 was absolutely classic! Imagine our forward line with Jay and Mark down front and Hurley roaming around the arc this is a must for Essendon to have even more success in 2010! Up the mighty Bombers!

Terry from UK says: Hurley was brought to the club as the new Fletcher. Pears is doing a fantastic job, with Fletch in his last season, give them both the chance to learn from the master himself. Next season Neagle, Gumbleton, Williams, Monfries & possibly Still will get the score on the board for us, GO BOMBERS

Phil from Coburg says: wherever he wants to!

Philip from Huntly, Victoria says: Michael Hurley should play centre half forward, he looks to have the ability to play any position successfully. I think he would offer the team more at centre half forward than playing full forward.

Trent from Berwick says: As much as I'd like to watch him kick goals I think he will be an absolute star in the backline, with Pears and Hooker there wont be many goals kicked on us in the future. We have our forward line right, Hurley will be best down back

Matt from Vic says: Hopefully Hille can get straight back into it next year with Laycock freeing big Paddy to drop back in defence with Tayte. Get Hurley in the square with Scotty G at centre half forward.

Robert from Craigieburn says: Being skilled on both sides of the body is a rarity and a far greater advantage on the forward line. Matthew would have to have rocks in his head to play Michael Hurley on the back line.

Dean Garraway from Epping, Victoria. says: I think Hurley has outstanding skills and strength for a young player, and I think he will grow into a ""monster"" Centre Half Forward.
