Hussien El Achkar is a proud Australian Muslim from a Lebanese family, with football playing a central role in his journey. A product of Essendon’s NGA and the Calder Cannons, the exciting small forward has been inspired by role models such as his cousin Adam Saad and Bachar Houli. El Achkar hopes his path into the AFL can encourage more young Muslims to see football as a game they can belong in and succeed at.
