Saad El-Hawli’s football journey is deeply connected to his Lebanese heritage. The mature-age recruit persisted through the VFL and local football before earning his AFL opportunity with Essendon at 23. A cousin of three-time premiership player Bachar Houli, El-Hawli has spoken proudly about representing his faith and culture, including making his AFL debut during Ramadan.
